Desk Mat Size Guide

The right desk mat is the one that fits the space you actually use. Measure your keyboard, your usual mouse movement and the clear depth of your desk before choosing.

Current Lucid Dreams desk mats measure 31.5 inches wide × 15.5 inches deep (approximately 80 × 39.4 cm), with 3 mm neoprene and anti-slip backing. Each listing includes one desk mat.

Measure in three steps

  1. Measure the clear desktop. Look for at least 31.5 × 15.5 inches of flat, usable space. Include the positions of monitor feet, speakers, desk edges, cable openings and anything that would interrupt the mat.
  2. Check the keyboard and mouse together. Place them in your normal positions. Move the mouse as you usually do, then measure the total area you need. A compact keyboard and a full-size keyboard leave different amounts of room.
  3. Test the outline. Mark the mat’s footprint on paper and lay it on the desk. Check that it stays flat and that the front-to-back depth works with your seated position. Avoid adhesives that could damage the desk finish.

Will it fit my keyboard?

There is no single answer for every keyboard and desk. For illustration, a keyboard that measures 17 inches wide would leave 14.5 inches of the mat’s width before you allow for a gap and your preferred mouse area. That is arithmetic, not a fit test of a particular keyboard. Measure your own equipment and your usual movement.

Choose artwork for the visible space

Consider which part of the image your keyboard will cover. An ocean or landscape design can create a continuous atmosphere around your equipment. Choose colors you enjoy beside your screen and other desk items, then look closely at the actual product image.

Care and everyday use

Spot clean only, following the product’s care instructions. The mat has anti-slip backing, but its placement still depends on the surface beneath it. Keep it flat and avoid crowding the desk edge.

Before ordering, check the design, the 31.5 × 15.5 inch footprint and your setup. A styled product image cannot confirm that your own keyboard, mouse and desk will fit.
